Stellenangebote/Job offer

Physicists and Information Scientists (both PhD or Post Doc suited) in Biomedical Engineering (E-13)

The Institute of Biomedical Optics (BMO) at the University of Lübeck offers as soon as possible positions for the field of image acquisition and processing for Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Photoacoustic Imaging (PAT) and image based feedback guided laser therapies. For PAT an innovative non-contact digital holographic speckle contrast imaging technique shall be implemented to visualize the subcutaneous vasculature. Further, PAT and OCT shall be combined to a new multimodal imaging system. Both methods hold great promise for ultrafast imaging at high resolution for diagnostics in ophthalmology, cardiology, gastroenterology and dermatology. The Biomedical Technology Science Campus Lübeck and particularly the University of Lübeck holds broad expertise in image acquisition and processing in Medicine. The BMO particularly has evolved to an active international center in OCT. Besides two OCT groups at the University three companies are engaged in the development of OCT devices. A new field of research is non-contact photoacoustic imaging technique. In close cooperation with the Medical Laser Center Lübeck as a non-profit technology transfer institute the new technologies shall be implemented for medical diagnostics with the aim to develop new medical products with industrial partners.
