Visit of the physics student council from Rostock

As part of the “Erstifahrt”, the physics student council of the University of Rostock visited the Institute for Biomedical Optics and the Medizinische Laserzentrum Lübeck GmbH because “cool things are done here with lasers”.

During the two-hour visit to the institute, the 22 students from Rostock (including the student council mascot “Entonia Psychokwak”) were shown exciting laboratory set-ups for laser surgery, plasmas with high-power lasers, SLIDE microscopy, 4D-OCT and micromaterial processing and were also able to cut peppers with a laser. The students were very interested in the scientific questions, motivated and also infected by the fascination of lasers ;-)

We were very happy about the visit and perhaps we will see each other again as part of a Master's program at the University of Lübeck.
